Acer has officially announced the Predator Atlas 7, a smaller iteration of its Intel-powered handheld gaming device. The new 7-inch model retains the core specifications of its larger predecessor while offering a more portable form factor, set to launch in North America in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The Predator Atlas 7 boasts a 7-inch IPS-level touchscreen with a crisp 1920x1080 resolution and a fluid 120 Hz refresh rate, complete with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support and 500 nits of brightness. The 16:9 aspect ratio panel covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, featuring Acer’s DXC anti-glare coating. A tempered-glass screen protector is also included in the package.

Under the hood, the handheld will be available with Intel Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme processors. These are paired with Intel's integrated Arc B370 and B390 graphics, respectively. The B390 configuration comes with 12 Xe3 GPU cores, while the B370 offers 10 cores. Intel’s platform supports XeSS 3, including Super Resolution and Multi-Frame Generation technologies, to enhance gaming performance.

Potential buyers can configure the Atlas 7 with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X-7467 memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 SSD. Cooling is a key focus for Acer, with the device employing a dual-fan system. This includes Acer’s proprietary 89-blade Predator AeroBlade metal fan, featuring ultra-thin 0.1 mm blades, alongside a second conventional plastic fan. The company's Vortex Flow internal ducting design further aids in directing airflow efficiently throughout the chassis.

Advanced Controls and Connectivity Options

Battery life is a crucial consideration for handheld gaming, and the Atlas 7 offers flexibility. It can be equipped with an 80Wh battery, though a lighter 60Wh configuration is also confirmed. For input, the handheld supports optional TMR joysticks, in addition to conventional carbon-film analog sticks. Gamers will also find Hall-effect analog triggers for precise input, two rear macro buttons for custom commands, and a fingerprint reader seamlessly integrated into the power button for quick, secure access.

Connectivity is robust, featuring two Thunderbolt 4 ports for high-speed data transfer and display output. A UHS-II microSD card reader is included for expandable storage, and the device supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard along with Bluetooth 5.4 for reliable wireless connections. A standard 3.5 mm audio jack is also present.

In terms of dimensions, the Atlas 7 measures 292 x 112.7-123 x 28.5-48.4 mm. Acer lists the weight at under 750 grams for the 80Wh battery model and below 700 grams for the 60Wh version. This makes it a lighter option compared to the 8-inch Predator Atlas 8, which weighs under 810 grams with its 80Wh battery. Pricing for the Predator Atlas 7 has not yet been announced, but it is slated for a November 2026 launch in EMEA markets, followed by North America later in Q4 2026.

The introduction of the Predator Atlas 7 signifies Acer's continued push into the growing gaming handheld market. By offering a smaller, potentially more affordable option that still leverages powerful Intel Arc graphics, Acer aims to capture a wider audience seeking portable PC gaming experiences. The inclusion of high-end features like a 120Hz display, Wi-Fi 7, and robust cooling systems demonstrates a commitment to delivering a premium portable gaming platform. The previous generation, the Atlas 8, garnered attention for its PC-like performance in a handheld format, and the Atlas 7 appears poised to build on that foundation.
