Ferrari and HP Launch $5,599 AI Laptop with Transparent 'Engine Bay'
Ferrari and HP have unveiled the Scuderia Ferrari AI PC, a limited-edition $5,599 laptop. Featuring a distinctive red finish and a transparent 'engine bay' showcasing internal components, it aims for design-centric luxury.

The iconic Italian automaker Ferrari, in collaboration with HP, has launched a striking new laptop that merges high-performance automotive design with cutting-edge technology. Unveiled in conjunction with the Monaco Grand Prix, the HP Scuderia Ferrari AI PC is a limited-edition device with a premium price tag of $5,599. This venture marks Ferrari's return to the laptop market, building on a two-year partnership with HP that emphasizes sophisticated design and engineering.
During a preview of a prototype in Ferrari's London showroom, the laptop's vivid "Rosso Magma" finish, reminiscent of the Ferrari Daytona SP3, was a prominent feature. The design incorporates premium anodized aluminum with a CNC-machined finish. A unique element is the transparent "engine bay" segment on the underside, offering a view of the processor and cooling system. Each of the 5,000 limited units is individually numbered via laser etching, with additional "Easter eggs" for dedicated Ferrari enthusiasts. The laptop's Gorilla Glass panel is enhanced with 2,000 precisely drilled holes, adding both texture and visual appeal. Even the hinge design draws inspiration from Ferrari's F76 digital hypercar concept, featuring concentric louvers intended to improve airflow and thermal management.
The design philosophy centers on Ferrari's "eyes on the road" motto, prioritizing the user's primary experience. This is exemplified by the trackpad, which is nearly invisible when the laptop is open, subtly indicated by a thin illuminated line below the keyboard. While the specifications are robust, the laptop is not positioned as a gaming powerhouse. Instead, it offers specifications comparable to HP's Zbook line.
Performance and Features
The HP Scuderia Ferrari AI PC is powered by an Intel Core Ultra X7 processor, complemented by integrated Intel Arc graphics. It boasts 64GB of memory and a 1TB solid-state drive. The 14-inch 3K OLED display supports touch input, and the keyboard features per-key RGB illumination using Ferrari's custom typeface. These lighting effects are customizable, with several pre-programmed cycles available to match the user's preference for a flashy aesthetic. Connectivity is comprehensive, including two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-C 10Gbps port, a standard USB-A port, HDMI, and a headphone jack.
This exclusive device is slated for release on June 12th in select markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Japan. Like Ferrari's most sought-after automobiles, the HP Scuderia Ferrari AI PC comes with an accompanying luxury package. Buyers will receive a high-quality box, a USB charger, and a sophisticated Poltrona Frau leather sleeve, mirroring the materials used in Ferrari car interiors. This blend of automotive passion and advanced computing aims to appeal to discerning consumers who appreciate both performance and unparalleled design.
