HP OmniBook Laptops Debut with RTX Spark, 128GB RAM, 3K OLED Screens
HP unveils its new OmniBook Ultra 16 and OmniBook X 14 laptops, featuring powerful Nvidia RTX Spark GPUs, up to 128GB of RAM, and stunning 3K OLED displays. These new machines target AI workloads and high-end performance.

HP has significantly upgraded its OmniBook laptop line with the introduction of the OmniBook Ultra 16 and OmniBook X 14. These new models are among the first to feature Nvidia's latest RTX Spark graphics technology, promising substantial performance gains for both professional tasks and demanding creative applications. The laptops also boast configurations with up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and vibrant 3K OLED displays, positioning them as potent tools for users tackling local AI models and intensive multimedia work.
The OmniBook Ultra 16, the larger of the two new arrivals, is engineered for maximum performance. It offers a choice between two RTX Spark N1X configurations: one with an 18-core CPU paired with a 5,120-core Blackwell RTX GPU, and another, more powerful option featuring a 20-core CPU and a 6,144-core GPU. Memory capacities range from 32 GB to a substantial 128 GB of LPDDR5X-9400 RAM, complemented by up to a 2 TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD for storage. HP claims the top configuration can achieve up to 1 PFLOP of FP4 AI performance, making it a compelling choice for running advanced AI models directly on the device.
Visual fidelity is a key highlight for the OmniBook Ultra 16. Its 16-inch OLED touchscreen presents a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, supporting a dynamic 120 Hz refresh rate and variable refresh rate technology. The display offers excellent brightness, with 500 nits for SDR content and up to 1,100 nits for HDR, alongside 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification. Audio is delivered through quad speakers, and a 5 MP IR webcam enhances video conferencing capabilities. The inclusion of a haptic touchpad with gesture controls for volume and brightness adds a modern touch to the user experience. HP has also incorporated its first "tower hinge and trunk" design in a consumer laptop, aimed at optimizing airflow while maintaining a slim profile. The device measures 15.73 mm at its thickest point and weighs 2.22 kg (4.89 lb), powered by a 99 Wh battery rated for up to 17 hours of use, and supporting 140 W USB-C GaN charging.
Enhanced Portability and Performance in the OmniBook X 14
The smaller HP OmniBook X 14 shares the same powerful RTX Spark N1X graphics options as its larger sibling, including the 18-core CPU with 5,120-core GPU and the higher-tier 20-core CPU with 6,144-core GPU variants. Users can configure it with up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X-9400 unified memory and select from a range of PCIe Gen4 and Gen5 SSDs, with capacities up to 2 TB. The 14-inch OLED display mirrors the Ultra 16's specifications, featuring a 2,880 x 1,800 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, VRR support, and impressive brightness levels (500 nits SDR, 1,100 nits HDR), along with full DCI-P3 coverage and DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification. This model includes a dual-speaker setup, differing from the Ultra 16's quad speakers. Focusing on portability, the OmniBook X 14 measures 13.53 mm at its thickest and weighs 1.71 kg (3.77 lb). It employs a dual-fan cooling system with IR-based thermal management. Its 80 Wh battery is rated for up to 15 hours, and it comes with a 140 W USB-C GaN charger.
Connectivity on both the OmniBook X 14 and Ultra 16 is robust and modern. Both models are equipped with two 40 Gbps USB-C ports supporting DisplayPort 2.1 and USB Power Delivery, along with two 10 Gbps USB-A ports. They also feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The OmniBook Ultra 16 additionally includes a microSD card reader for expanded media compatibility. HP has announced that both new OmniBook laptops will be available this fall. However, pricing details have not yet been released, a common scenario for new hardware unveiled at events like IFA 2026.
