PlayStation Plus September 2026: RPG, Shooter, and Sports Games Free

Sony has officially unveiled the lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers for September 2026. Starting September 1, players can download four titles: the retro-inspired RPG Chained Echoes, the WWII shooter Sniper Elite: Resistance, the physics sandbox Wobbly Life, and the latest installment in the baseball simulation series, MLB The Show 26.

Chained Echoes, developed by Matthias Linda and published by Umami Tiger, is a 16-bit style turn-based role-playing game that blends traditional fantasy elements with giant mechs. The story follows a group of heroes on the continent of Valandis as they strive to end a war between its three kingdoms. The game is known for its visible enemies, avoiding random encounters, and offers an estimated 30-40 hours of gameplay.

Sniper Elite: Resistance, released in 2025, is the newest addition to Rebellion's acclaimed sniping franchise. Set during World War II, the game focuses on the French Resistance, offering tactical third-person combat and stealth mechanics. Players can expect the series' signature slow-motion kill cams as they eliminate Nazi targets deep within occupied France, offering a different perspective from the main front lines.

Diverse Gaming Experiences Offered

For those seeking a lighter experience, Wobbly Life provides a colorful, open-world physics sandbox. Developed by RubberBandGames, the game allows players to team up with friends online or locally for various jobs, minigames, and wacky story missions. Its chaotic physics and charming presentation have earned it nearly 18,000 Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam, making it a fun option for cooperative play.

MLB The Show 26, which launched in March 2026, represents the most current iteration of the popular baseball simulation. This year's entry features an expanded Road to the Show mode, allowing players to guide their created star from high school through college and into the major leagues, now with 11 new college teams. Diamond Dynasty mode also sees enhancements, including a new Red Diamond player tier. PlayStation Plus members who download MLB The Show 26 will also receive the Jump Start Bundle, which includes packs to help build their Diamond Dynasty squad.

These four titles will be available for PlayStation Plus Essential members to download until October 5, 2026. In the meantime, subscribers can still claim August's free games, which include Big Walk, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, and Signalis, until August 31.
