Roku Debuts Premium OLED TVs: Pro Series and LX Models Arrive
Roku is expanding its TV lineup with its first-ever OLED models, the Pro Series and Pro Series LX. These new premium TVs offer advanced features and target a higher-end market segment.

Roku has entered the premium television market with the introduction of its first branded OLED TVs, the Roku Pro Series OLED TV and the Roku Pro Series LX OLED TV. This marks a significant expansion for the company, which began selling its own TVs in 2023 and previously utilized LCD and QLED panel technology.
The new OLED offerings will be available in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes, both featuring 4K resolution, a 120Hz maximum refresh rate, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10+. A key differentiator between the two models is brightness, with the LX variant reportedly being twice as bright as the standard Pro model, though specific brightness (nits) figures were not disclosed. Roku stated that both TVs offer competitive or leading brightness within their respective price categories. Connectivity includes three HDMI 2.1 ports and one HDMI 2.1 eARC port on each set.
Beyond the core OLED technology, these latest Roku TVs incorporate features designed to enhance the user experience. Automatic Gaming Mode is integrated to optimize settings when a game console is detected, and Roku Smart Picture Max utilizes AI to dynamically adjust color, contrast, and sharpness in real time. These advancements signal Roku's move to compete in a more sophisticated segment of the television market.
Entering a New Market Segment
The adoption of OLED technology represents a strategic step into a new tier for Roku. Previously, their most premium option was the Select Series, which featured QLED panels. Even these higher-end QLED models were priced significantly lower, with the 55-inch and 65-inch Select TVs retailing for $350 and $450, respectively. The new Roku Pro Series OLED TV will carry a starting price of $999 for the 55-inch model, while the 55-inch LX model will begin at $1,299. These prices reflect the premium cost associated with OLED panel technology, a common expectation for consumers seeking this display type. The Roku Pro Series OLED TV is available starting today exclusively on Amazon, with the Roku Pro Series LX OLED TV slated for release in October.
This launch positions Roku to challenge established players in the premium TV space, offering their familiar smart TV interface combined with cutting-edge display technology. The company's strategy appears to be broadening its appeal by catering to consumers who prioritize picture quality and advanced features, alongside its existing user base accustomed to its more budget-friendly options. The integration of AI-driven picture optimization and gaming-specific enhancements further underscores this commitment to a more sophisticated viewing experience.
The move into OLED is a notable departure from Roku's previous strategy, which focused on providing accessible smart TV platforms and more affordable hardware. By introducing the Pro Series OLED TVs, Roku aims to capture a segment of the market that often gravitates towards brands known for high-end visual performance. This expansion could also lead to increased competition among OLED TV manufacturers, potentially driving innovation and pricing adjustments across the industry.
