Sonos Adds iPhone Lock Screen Controls With Live Activities Update

Sonos has officially integrated Live Activities support into its iPhone application, bringing convenient playback controls directly to the user's Lock Screen. The Live Activities feature, announced by Sonos on Reddit, will appear after initiating audio playback and subsequently closing the Sonos app. It displays information about the current room or group of speakers being used. When playback ceases, the Live Activity will remain visible on the Lock Screen for up to 15 minutes before automatically disappearing. Users must unlock their iPhone using Face ID or a passcode to make any adjustments to playback through the Lock Screen interface.

The introduction of Live Activities on iOS follows a February report from Bloomberg indicating that the functionality was under development by Sonos.
