JMGO Iris Ultra Max Projector Promises 6,500 Lumens for Gamers

JMGO has launched its new 4K 120Hz Iris Ultra Max all-in-one Google TV projector for markets outside of China. The device is named for its innovative dual-iris system, which JMGO claims allows it to achieve an impressive 10,000:1 native contrast ratio. This system aims to tackle a common projector challenge by employing two separate physical apertures within the optical path to more effectively control light scatter and brightness than a single iris can.

The projector is powered by a triple-laser light engine, capable of producing a substantial 6,500 ISO lumens. This level of brightness marks a significant advancement, as even 6,000 lumens was considered groundbreaking at last year's IFA event. This year's IFA 2026 is seeing such brightness levels become more standard, alongside 4K imagery that can refresh at a smooth 120Hz, making it suitable for fast-paced sports and gaming.

Advanced Features for Enhanced Viewing

Building on lessons from previous models, the Iris Ultra Max addresses potential issues like color distortion at peak brightness, though users may want to await reviews for definitive performance assessments. Similar to its predecessor, the N3 Ultimate, the new Iris Ultra Max is equipped with a motorized pan-and-tilt gimbal, offering intuitive, Wiimote-like control over its positioning. This, combined with an 0.88–1.7:1 optical zoom and versatile lens shift capabilities (V±130% / H±53%), provides extensive options for image placement without compromising optical quality.

For gamers, the Iris Ultra Max includes support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) to minimize input lag and screen tearing. The projector also supports Dolby Vision HDR at its native 4K 120Hz resolution. These features are crucial for an immersive gaming experience, ensuring smooth visuals and responsiveness.
