Lenovo's First Googlebooks Revealed in Leaked Images

First glimpses of Lenovo's anticipated "Googlebooks" have emerged just ahead of their expected fall launch. Leaked images circulating online showcase two distinct traditional laptop models, both sporting a crisp white finish, and a versatile 2-in-1 tablet.

The laptops feature a subtle protrusion on the top edge, reminiscent of the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14. A prominent "glowbar," previously teased by Google, appears in a vibrant blue on the device's bezel. Branding is minimal, with only the "Lenovo" logo visible on the cover, a departure from the "Chromebook" nomenclature. Instead, the "Googlebook" branding is positioned on the left palm rest.

The leaked images indicate that the laptops will be available in at least two sizes. The smaller model appears to have a single speaker grill on the bottom, accompanied by a USB-C port and headphone jack on the right side. The larger variant boasts a more extensive port selection, including what appears to be USB-A and USB-C ports, along with an illuminated power button along its right edge. The left side of the larger model's port configuration is less clear due to image resolution but seems to include an audio jack, USB-C, and either another USB-A port or an HDMI connection.

A Flexible 2-in-1 Contender

Beyond the traditional clamshell designs, the leak also details a 2-in-1 Lenovo Googlebook tablet. This device integrates the distinctive "glowbar" adjacent to its camera, housed within a pill-shaped module. Speaker cutouts are visible on both sides, and a stylus or pen can be magnetically attached to the top edge.

Accompanying the tablet is a detachable keyboard featuring the "Googlebook" branding and a sizable touchpad. Lenovo is also reportedly developing a complementary mouse, distinguished by an integrated light strip, further emphasizing a cohesive ecosystem for these new devices.

This reveal comes as Google aims to broaden its hardware offerings beyond Pixel devices and Chromebooks. The "Googlebook" initiative represents a significant step in creating a more unified and recognizable hardware identity for Google's computing platforms, potentially challenging established players in the laptop and tablet markets.
