Apple MacBook Pro Guide Details How to Disable the Illuminated Logo
Apple has released an official support document explaining how users can turn off the glowing Apple logo on the new MacBook Pro using Terminal.

Following the recent announcement and release of the MacBook Pro featuring a PROLED XDR Display, Apple has published an official support document detailing the mechanics of its newly returned illuminated logo. While the glowing emblem on the laptop lid generated significant excitement, the company has also provided clear instructions for users who prefer to keep the feature disabled.
The new OLED MacBook Pro marks the return of the illuminated lid logo after a decade. As Chance Miller explained in his review of the new device, “unlike older MacBooks, which used light from the display’s backlight to illuminate the logo, the new OLED MacBook Pro has no backlight to draw from, requiring a different approach.”
Configuring and Disabling the Lid Logo
According to the official documentation, the Apple logo behind the built-in display remains illuminated whenever the computer is awake. The system automatically adjusts the brightness based on the built-in screen's settings and lighting conditions detected by the ambient light sensor. In all screen-brightness levels, the logo behaves dynamically, appearing dimmer in a dim room and brighter in a bright room.
For individuals who wish to turn off the logo completely, Apple outlines a specific command-line method requiring administrator access. Users can execute a designated command within the Terminal application. To revert the change and restore the illumination, a separate deletion command must be run, while reinstalling macOS will also return the logo to its default illuminated state.
