Warhammer has announced the release of the new Battletome: Cities of Sigmar, a comprehensive update for fans of the faction. The book promises extensive background lore, new artwork, detailed miniature galleries, and the essential warscrolls for players engaging with this force of brave soldiers in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar universe. A special, smaller-format gamer's edition will also be available, including 66 reference cards, while supplies last.

Among the new additions is the Cogfort, a formidable war machine designed for battlefield dominance. This kit offers a choice between two devastating variants: the Cannonade, armed with a godbreaker cannon, or the Conqueror, equipped with a realmscorcher flame cannon. The Cogfort boasts numerous cosmetic customization options and can be incorporated into any Warhammer Age of Sigmar faction as a Regiment of Renown.

New character models also join the ranks. Erasmus Zonn, known as the Enlightened One, is a brilliant arcanist who channels potent radiant magic from his mount, Glyphwing, using the Lantern of All-Knowledge and the Rod of Radiance. Forgepriest Mallus, a member of the clergy of the Brethren of the Forge, serves in Sigmar’s armies as a blacksmith, chaplain, and exorcist, leading from the front with a meteoric warhammer. The Aqshian Pyrocaster wields the powers of flame and heat, annihilating foes with bright magic channeled through their emberstone wands.

New Units and Heroes Expand Strategic Options

The roster of new heroes and units continues with the Amethyst Knellmage, a master of Shyishan arcana specializing in debilitating spells and swift scythe attacks. Freeguild Gallants are knightly champions fighting on foot, equipped with one-handed weapons and shields to intercept enemy charges. The Gate Gargants are massive brutes that form a living gatehouse, protecting advancing troops with bone-smashing sweeps of their warmauls while handlers operate multi-barrelled cannons.

Further expanding the Cities of Sigmar's presence are unique terrain pieces and specialized units. Dawner’s Triumph is a mobile monument serving as both memorial and dedication, radiating an aura of duty that inspires nearby troops. Jorvan Kreel, Heir of the Kraken, is a fearless Ranger-Colonel seeking to reclaim his honor. Freeguild Grenadiers are adept at close-quarters combat, armed with blackpowder weapons, flame-hurlers, and polearms for overwhelming assaults.

The release also includes specialized sets like Spearhead: Zenestra’s Zealots, led by Pontifex Zenestra and a Freeguild Marshal, featuring a comprehensive force including a Relic Envoy, Freeguild Command Corps, and Steelhelms. Additionally, Regiment of Renown: Ven Denst’s Hounds offers a witch-hunting father-daughter duo and their Wildercorps Hunters, usable in any Grand Alliance Order army.

To complement the new battletome and miniatures, custom dice featuring Cities of Sigmar themes and a pack of warscroll cards are also available. These accessories are designed to enhance the gaming experience, keeping rules and stats readily accessible. The Regiment of Renown, dice, and warscroll cards are limited editions, available only while stocks last.

This influx of new content for the Cities of Sigmar aims to provide players with expanded strategic depth and a wealth of new aesthetic options. The battletome itself serves as a cornerstone for integrating these new elements into existing armies or building entirely new forces around the updated lore and rules.
