Apple is reportedly preparing a substantial redesign for its iPhone Pro lineup next year, coinciding with the iPhone's 20th anniversary. Leaks suggest the upcoming models will boast larger display dimensions and a striking new quad-curved screen technology that aims for a more immersive, bezel-free experience.

According to a recent report from leaker Digital Chat Station, Apple is testing two new screen sizes for its Pro iPhones. The standard iPhone Pro is said to be increasing to 6.4 inches, up from the current 6.3 inches. More dramatically, the iPhone Pro Max is rumored to jump to a 7-inch display, an increase from its current 6.9 inches. While these size increases might seem incremental, the report indicates that both devices will also see an increase in their overall physical dimensions, maintaining the current aspect ratio.

Radical Display Changes Expected

Beyond the screen size adjustments, the most significant rumored change is the adoption of quad-curved displays. These displays are expected to wrap around the edges of the device, creating a seamless, all-glass appearance with minimal bezels. The Dynamic Island, a hallmark of recent iPhone designs, may also be reduced in size or potentially eliminated entirely with this new display technology. This would mark a departure from the current design language that Apple introduced with the iPhone X for its 10th anniversary in 2017.

The last significant size update for the Pro models occurred in 2024 with the iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 16 Pro saw its display grow from 6.1 to 6.3 inches, while the Pro Max expanded from 6.7 to 6.9 inches. The upcoming changes, particularly the move to larger screens and the innovative curved displays, are anticipated to make the 2025 iPhone Pro models feel substantially more distinct compared to their predecessors.

This potential shift towards larger, more encompassing displays could signal Apple's strategy to differentiate its premium hardware-gadgets offerings in an increasingly competitive smartphone market. With competitors also pushing the boundaries of display technology and form factors, Apple's next-generation iPhone Pro models may be looking to recapture user attention with a bold aesthetic and enhanced visual experience.

The timing of these rumored upgrades, tied to the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone, suggests Apple may be aiming for a celebratory and impactful product launch. While details remain speculative until an official announcement, the prospect of significantly larger screens and an edge-to-edge display presents an exciting outlook for the future of the iPhone.
