London-based tech company Nothing has unveiled its latest audio offering, the Nothing Ear 3A earbuds, priced at $99. Launched on July 7, 2026, these new buds introduce a distinctive feature not commonly found in their price range: integrated flash storage allowing for direct audio recording. This functionality enables users to capture up to two hours of audio directly onto the earbuds themselves.
The recording capability is activated by simultaneously pinching the stems of both earbuds. Powered by a proprietary system dubbed Audio Snapshot, the feature allows for instant media clipping. This could be useful for capturing snippets from online lectures, saving important voice notes from friends, or even recording phone conversations. When recording calls, both parties are alerted, and the audio files automatically sync to the companion Nothing X app for subsequent playback, editing, sharing, and transcription.

For users who prefer to keep noise cancellation active, the estimated total battery life with ANC on is around 25 hours, suggesting approximately six to seven hours of single-charge usage with ANC engaged.
