Redmi Watch 6 Global Launch: Advanced Features Arrive Internationally
Xiaomi's Redmi Watch 6 is now available internationally, offering features like a bright AMOLED display, long battery life, and comprehensive health tracking. The NFC version adds contactless payments.

Xiaomi has officially launched its latest smartwatch, the Redmi Watch 6, in markets outside of China. Initially released in its home market in October, the smartwatch is now rolling out to Poland, Romania, and Thailand, with the specialized NFC model currently exclusive to Poland. This international debut brings advanced wearable technology to a wider audience, featuring a vibrant display and robust health monitoring capabilities.
The Redmi Watch 6 boasts a prominent 2.07-inch AMOLED display, characterized by its sharp 324ppi pixel density and a smooth 60Hz refresh rate. With remarkably thin 2mm symmetrical bezels, the screen achieves an impressive 82% screen-to-body ratio. Xiaomi highlights the display's peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight. Further enhancing user experience are the always-on display and the convenient raise-to-wake functionality.
Constructed with a slim 9.9mm unibody design and an aluminum alloy frame, the Redmi Watch 6 is noted to be 1.4mm thinner than its predecessor. Xiaomi also claims improvements in material durability, citing a 20% increase in Vickers hardness and a 40% higher yield point for the frame. Aesthetically, the design incorporates a raised stainless steel dial and an additional physical button. This extra button offers quick access to the control center, power menus, and can be configured to trigger an emergency contact shortcut with a triple press, adding both functionality and safety.
Comprehensive Health and Fitness Tracking
Battery performance is a key selling point for the Redmi Watch 6. It is equipped with a substantial 550mAh battery, promising up to 24 days of use on a single charge under light usage conditions. More typical usage scenarios are rated for 12 days, while intensive use will yield approximately seven days. The device also features a linear motor capable of over 20 distinct vibration patterns, providing nuanced alerts for alarms, notifications, fitness milestones, and health updates.
For fitness enthusiasts, the smartwatch offers support for over 150 sports modes and robust water resistance, rated at 5ATM, making it suitable for swimming. Its independent GNSS capabilities are enhanced by dual L1 antennas, supporting five major satellite systems for superior positioning accuracy. Xiaomi has engineered the system to automatically select the antenna with the strongest signal based on how the watch is worn, optimizing tracking for activities like running and cycling.
The health monitoring suite on the Redmi Watch 6 is comprehensive, including continuous 24/7 heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) tracking, stress level analysis, and detailed sleep analysis. Users can also engage in guided breathing exercises. The watch is designed to alert users to potential health concerns, with features like abnormal heart rate alerts, low blood oxygen vibration alerts, and dedicated women’s health management functions. The addition of the NFC model allows for contactless payments via Mastercard and Visa, further integrating the device into daily life.
The international pricing reflects regional variations, starting at PLN 449 in Poland, RON 519 in Romania, and THB 3,190 in Thailand for the standard model. The Redmi Watch 6 NFC variant is priced at PLN 499 in Poland. This release positions the Redmi Watch 6 as a competitive option in the global smartwatch market, offering a blend of design, performance, and advanced features at a compelling price point.
