This design aims to prevent scratches and damage that could otherwise occur.
"If something like sand adheres to the top surface of the internal display, the screen could get scratched when the Fold is folded," a Samsung representative explained. "We designed it so the display indents slightly to provide a cushioning effect and prevent damage. Since this feature was prepared to ensure consumers do not experience inconvenience, we have not provided a separate official explanation." This proactive approach underscores Samsung's commitment to user experience and device longevity.
