The 2026 Lucid Gravity Touring electric SUV, starting around $82,000, has entered the competitive luxury SUV arena, offering a blend of robust performance, extensive driving range, and advanced charging technology. Having already established itself with the Air electric sedan, Lucid's second major production vehicle, the Gravity, aims to replicate that success in the SUV segment. This review focuses on the Gravity Touring model, which starts at approximately $82,000 including destination charges, with a test vehicle outfitted with numerous optional packages pushing the total to $107,200.

Key options on the tested Gravity Touring included a 22-speaker audio system, Comfort and Convenience package, third-row seating, a Dynamic Handling package with rear-wheel steering and air suspension, and a luxury seating package. The vehicle also featured the Dream Drive 2.0 Pro driver assistance suite, which adds hands-free driving assist and automatic lane changes. Lucid's commitment to over-the-air software updates ensures the vehicle remains current.

While a more powerful Grand Touring version exists, the Gravity Touring, equipped with an 89-kWh battery pack, provides a claimed driving range of 337 miles. During a week of mixed driving, the test vehicle achieved approximately 320 miles on a full charge, aligning closely with EPA estimates. Charging proved seamless, with the vehicle's NACS port and plug-and-charge capability enabling effortless connection at Tesla Supercharger stations. One charging session saw the battery go from 15 percent to 95 percent in just 31 minutes, showcasing Lucid's industry-leading charging speeds.

Performance and Handling

Under the hood, the Gravity Touring utilizes a dual-motor setup, producing a combined 560 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque. While not matching the Grand Touring's output, this powertrain delivers more than enough acceleration for merging onto highways or overtaking. Lucid claims a 0-60 mph time of 4.0 seconds for the Touring. Beyond raw speed, the SUV impresses with its refined handling. The steering is precise and well-weighted, and the optional three-chamber air suspension offers a balanced ride, controlling the vehicle's considerable mass effectively.

The braking system, featuring Brembo-built front calipers and large rotors, provides confident stopping power. Even with regenerative braking disengaged, the Gravity exhibits noticeable deceleration, suggesting a sophisticated integration of its electric powertrain. Despite its size and weight, estimated at around 5,200 pounds, the Gravity navigates corners with surprising agility, outperforming expectations for a vehicle in its class.

Visually, the Gravity Touring shares its design language with the more expensive Grand Touring. Its proportions are balanced, and aerodynamic surfaces contribute to a modern, premium aesthetic. Elements like the illuminated front fascia and expansive glass roof enhance its contemporary look. The test vehicle's Supernova Bronze metallic paint, combined with the standard Stealth Appearance package, presented a handsome, albeit substantial, profile.

Inside, the design ethos continues with a minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired interior. The driver-focused cockpit features Lucid's Clearview Cockpit, a large 34-inch curved OLED display paired with a 12.6-inch central touchscreen. This system is information-rich yet intuitive. The unconventional squared-off steering wheel requires a brief adjustment period but does not significantly alter the driving experience.

Passenger comfort is a high priority, with spacious seating in both the front and rear rows. The front seats offer exceptional comfort and massage functions. However, the large A-pillars can obstruct forward visibility. Cargo space is generous, with 56 cubic feet behind the second row, expandable to 112 cubic feet with the seats folded. This capacity rivals traditional large SUVs and minivans, providing ample room for luggage and gear.

Despite its strengths, some interior material choices may not meet the high standards set by the Lucid Air sedan. Nevertheless, the 2026 Lucid Gravity Touring represents a significant step forward for Lucid, solidifying its presence in the burgeoning electric SUV market with a compelling package of technology, performance, and luxury.
