Samsung QS90H Soundbar Review: Powerful Bass, All-in-One Design

Samsung's latest soundbar, the QS90H, boasts a significant upgrade in audio performance, primarily driven by its integrated Quad Bass subwoofer and a 7.1.2 channel configuration. Measuring about 3.5 inches wider than its predecessor, the QS700F, the QS90H accommodates five additional drivers, bringing the total to 13. This expanded driver array aims to provide a robust audio experience without the need for an external subwoofer, a key differentiator from many competitors.

The design of the QS90H maintains similarities with the QS700F, featuring a horizontally striped top grille and dotted side and front panels. Onboard controls are centrally located, including a microphone mute button (which doubles as Bluetooth mode activation), volume controls, and a Multi button for waking the device and cycling through inputs. Advanced features include wireless Dolby Atmos, Q-Symphony audio expansion (requiring a compatible Samsung TV), and SpaceFit Sound Pro room calibration.

However, the Arc Ultra comes with a higher price tag and has been plagued by user reports of app instability. Bose's Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar also offers a 5.1.2 configuration and promises enhanced bass, though it is positioned as part of a larger home theater system. The QS90H, with its impressive bass, versatile design, and convenient all-in-one nature, presents a compelling option for consumers seeking high-quality audio without the complexity of multiple components.
