iPhone Duo App Ecosystem Reaches Milestone With Over 100,000 Optimized Titles
Apple reports that over 100,000 apps are now optimized for the iPhone Duo just two weeks after the foldable device started shipping.

Just two weeks after shipping, the iPhone Duo has reached a major software milestone. Apple announced that more than 100,000 applications built specifically for the foldable handset are now live on the App Store, with thousands more optimized titles arriving daily.
“Developers have moved quickly to embrace the handset,” according to Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. Prominent software releases featuring these optimizations include Microsoft applications such as Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Word. Other updated software includes Etsy, Goodnotes, Halide Mark III, NBA, NHL, Zoom, Amazon Prime Video, Fantastical, Flighty, Instagram, MLB, Netflix, SmartGym, WhatsApp, and YouTube. Optimized offerings receive a Made for iPhone Duo badge on their App Store product pages when viewed on the hardware.
Developer Workshops and Technical Adaptation
To accelerate development support, Apple hosted more than 50 in-person sessions across 19 cities over the past month, drawing a total attendance of over 2,000 developers. Applications utilizing standard SwiftUI and UIKit elements adjust automatically to each display, while newly introduced APIs handle customized layouts and hinge poses. Unoptimized older builds continue to function on the hardware, though they do not always fill the inner display in the same manner as fully tailored software.
While the overall App Store catalog contains millions of items, numerous titles still await optimization, with software like Google Maps only recently catching up. Leadership at the tech firm expects the momentum of software updates to continue rising.
